Narendra Modi or in short NAMO has been the epitome of administration, governance and corruption free politics. What I fail to understand is the media's role in constant malignant and denigration of the image of this leader with attempts to portray his defeat in the Gujarat 2012 elections .
Firstly, we are in India , a land of imperfections , So for us to have a Leader like Modi is so uncomfortable because he is arrogant and does not involve in wishy-washy talks.I do agree that as the Chief Minister of Gujarat he has directly or in directly committed mistakes in the 2002 riots but our judiciary does not seem to think that way. So who do we believe the judiciary or not? That's a different discussion altogether and not the point I'm trying to convey today.
The crux of the discussion is how he is so different from other leaders. Though a distant comparison , we could say we have a Steve jobs in our politics. His focus is on development rather than appeasement or vote bank politics. He decimates hundreds of illegally built temples to build roads and bridges, an act no other so called "secular" leader would dare to do .Why? They would lose votes!.Forget the numbers, statistics, his governance speaks for itself . Narmada project , with solar panels covering them serving dual purpose of reducing evaporation and bringing respite to the farmers. This blog is not sufficient to capture all the minutiae details of his governance, but the point is Yes Gujarat is definitely different from other states which are riddled with dynastic politics and corruption .
The contention point is this : Why is the media always trying to figure out loop holes to attack him.No one is saying he is 100% perfect. He is a homo sapien after all and he can never be perfect , but to take this as an weapon and go about criticising his moves irks many.Media does not have the time to take up stories where Most of the MP's in the parliament are corrupt or have committed many heinous crimes. No one is ready to talk about Lalu , Jayalalitha ,Mulayam Singh . So many atrocities to cover but they prefer to find fault in Modis' governance style which is way better than most other states.
I would like to end this discussion by saying that, Yes if he is guilty of mistakes punish him , if he is accused of corruption malign him but we finally have a leader with a spine who can talk tough language with US or Pakistan. We are a country with 1 billion people and we need not fawn United States or any other country. We have the capability to flourish and pressurise other countries. When all other countries economy is in a bad shape , there is no reason for us to be timorous of the situation. We have a leader who has the guts to take on any one .Let us support him if he is not guilty , or let us punish him if he is guilty but let us not do a media trial of someone who can drive India ahead.

Narendra Modi is perceived as a role model of development. May be he is good with economic policies and development. But
one cannot overlook what Modi is all about given the way he handled the Gujarat riots.
